See what I did there?
Man I'm funny.
Or a little punch-drunk...it's 2am and I cannot fall asleep for the life of me.
Anywho, just in case you're in the mood for dressing up...or if you want a cute design to paint your child's face and don't want to use the (apparently) lead-tainted face paints that may or may not be out there...it's MAC Cosmetics and their amazing makeup artists to the rescue!
Here's the step by step instructions on how to acheive the look you see above.
1. Cover the whole face with Luna Cream Colour Base with Brush #249.
2. Outline the butterfly design with Fascinating Eye Kohl and sketch detail of wings.
3. Begin with using Brush #242 to shade Juxt Eye Shadow under the eyes, and then follow by blending the
following Eye Shadows outward to create an airbrushed effect that moves from green, to blue, to purple: Colors used...Swimming, Aquadisiac, Moon’s Reflection, and Stars and Rockets.
4. Use Brush #242 to apply Gorgeous Gold Eye Shadow along the inner corner of the eye and blend upward with Expensive Pink, Coppering, and Sushi Flower to finish the upper portion of the butterfly with an airbrushed finesse.
5. Use Brush #209 with Boot Black Liquid Liner to outline the butterfly and detail pattern inside of the wings.
6. Use Brush #252 with Carbon Eye Shadow to shade over the entire face.
7. Use Duo to apply Lash #42 to the upper lashline and finish with two to three coats with Zoomblack Mascara.
8. Define the lip with Velvetella Cremestick Liner. Apply Cyber Lipstick with Brush #311 and Girl About Town Lipstick along the inner lip for a strong highlight. Finish with a glossy coat of Dazzleglass in Date Night.
EYES
Use Rapidblack Penultimate Liner to illustrate defined, delicate black brows, using the upper edge of brows as a guide.
Neutralize eyelid colour by using 242 Shader Brush to apply Prep + Prime Eye. Create a nude highlight under brows by using 217 Blending Brush to apply Brule Eye Shadow.
Continue with an additional 217 Blending Brush to apply Painterly Paint Pot over the eyelid.
Use 217 Blending Brush to blend Jest Eye Shadow through the inner and outer crease for a soft contour.
Define the upper lashline with a delicate line of Rapidblack Penultimate Liner. Apply two to three coats of Zoom Fast Black Lash Mascara with 205 Mascara Fan Brush on both upper and lower lashes.

nail color du jour...opi's mrs. o'leary's bbq
Really, who doesn't like OPI for their positively HUGE assortment of colors...at prices you can afford no less.
I tend to break out the reds and darks this time of year. One of the shades I reach for again and again is this, Mrs. O'Leary's BBQ. So deep and so perfect with short nails.
Find yours at opi.com.
*editor's note:bought with my own money at my local ulta.

liqwd
From the original creators of Alterna comes LiQWD, a hair care line that I am positively l-o-v-i-n-g right now.
It pretty much hits the two desirable areas that most people want to acheive, silky-smoothness and volume.
UsingNano -Hydraspheres (an apparently new and improved take on nano -technology that adheres to hair and delivers microscopic treatment ingredients better than previous incarnations due to an improved molecular shape), ColorLife (a comprehensive color care system that seals and protects the hair shaft and is said to extend color life and brilliance like nothing before), and special smoothing and/or volumizing properties...your hair is left looking fabulous.
I tend to go for the smoothness. Not that my hair is insanely curly mind you, it has that ridiculous in between texture that's almost wavy, but nowhere near straight. Being my hair tends to not need any plumping up either...not trying to brag here, just stating the facts...I decided to check out the Hydrating Shampoo ($32), the Hydrating Conditioner ($34), and the Smoothing Catalyst ($36).
The results after blow drying really and truly surprised me.
Shiny, straight hair that did not take any smoothing over with a flat iron. I only had to use my favorite flat vent brush...plus a round brush thrown in for a little bend...and that was it.
Smooth hair that felt soft and lasted all day.
Seriously.

halloween makeup how-tos from brett freedman
Finally, some Halloween makeup that you can actually do with the goods you probably have in your makeup bag or drawer.
Or closet if you're like me.
The fabulous Brett Freedman (an LA-based makeup artist who's worked with celebs like Vanessa Hudgens, Emily Blunt, Jessica Biel, and Jessica Lucas) gave me the lowdown on how to recreate the looks you see above.
Enjoy!
BARBIE –
Perfect Cat Eyes: Give a silver dusting to the whole lid from lash line to brow line and into the tear duct. Add a sweep of a purple-gray hue to the crease of the eyelid to add depth. Then use a felt tip liquid eyeliner (Brett loves Sephora's version) and lightly dot on the lid, staying as close as possible to the lash line. Go back over and this time press the felt tip firmly into skin and 'connect the dots' to smooth the line, fanning it up and out toward the temples on the ends. Finish off your makeup look with pretty pink cheeks and lips!
· Pair with a pink form-fitting dress, pearls, pumps and the perfect clutch!
MARILYN MONROE –
Bombshell Makeup: Start with a foundation that's a shade lighter than you usually use (try Revlon’s Custom Creations foundation). This sets the stage for the crisp, retro look. Shade the crease of your eye with a soft beige-y taupe shadow. With a sponge-tipped applicator, apply a matte, bone colored shadow (or pale face powder) all over lids and add a silvery shimmer along the brow bone to highlight. The black liquid liner is very important. Run from tear duct to outer corner very close to the lash line. Extend liner up and out. Corner false lashes finish this alluring eye look. Fill out lips with a true blue-red lip liner and fill in with a deep red lipstick. Use very minimal blush in a soft pink. Ice the cake with Marilyn's iconic mole aka your black liquid liner!
· Pair with a white halter dress...don’t forget the windy subway grate!
40’S PINUP GAL -
For the brunette and redhead beauties that can’t pull off the Marilyn look without a wig, try the same makeup as above, but pair with voluminous hair, cherry red nails, maillot bathing suit, and pumps!
TWIGGY –
Pop Art Eyes: You'll need two sets of false eyelashes for this monochromatic mod look - one very full, dark pair for the top and a second sparser, spikier pair for the bottom (try Andrea Perma-Lash). Sculpt lid out from the tear duct to outer corner with matte gray shadow - be very exaggerated and rounded and arc it like a rainbow. Take a near-white silver shimmer eye shadow and apply boldly to lid and brow bone. Use a liquid liner on top and bottom, extending on the outer corners horizontally (toward the mid ear, not the temple). Apply false lashes to top and bottom lash lines. Steer clear of blush and go for a very pale, fleshy lipstick or gloss.
· Pair with a short cropped coif, mini printed shift dress and white boots made for walkin’.
HELEN OF TROY –
Gold Dewy Makeup: Start with an all over tan and shimmery glow (Vanitymark’s Shimmerskin is great!). Gold and peach tones are your friends. Give you cheeks a sweep of warm apricot blush and work it up around eyes. Get an eye shadow quad in browns – use the palest shade to highlight under the brow bone and layer the shades from lightest to darkest. The darker the shade, the closer it should be to the lash line. Use a deep brown eyeliner pencil on the inner shelf of the eye for extra pop. Apply small, corner lashes to the top outer lash line to amp up lashes. Apply a peachy/golden gloss to lips. For the finishing touch, take a loose, sheer gold powder and dust over eye make up and along the tops of the cheekbones.
· Pair with a homemade draped toga or your fave little white dress, gladiator sandals and lots of gold bangles.
JOAN JETT –
Smoky Eyes: It's all about the eyes. Too much is never enough. There will be little other make up so it's best to get your pow from really working your black eyeliner. Apply base as usual. Use a very neutral lip - clear gloss is best. Blush should be a fleshy, barely there pink. Using a soft black eyeliner, fill in your lid and under eye in quick strokes. Don't worry about getting it smooth and perfect because (in true rocker style) you're gonna smudge and blend with your finger. Curl your lashes and apply multiple layers of blue-black mascara (try L’Oreal Voluminous). Once mascara dries, take a small dab of clear lip gloss and rub into lid and lash line. This will give the liner a wet, naughty look. Rock on!
· Pair with a cropped motorcycle jacket, white tank, skinny jeans and boots...and an air guitar if you’re feeling festive!

perfect for fall and beyond...donna karan cashmere mist
A sheer floral with hints of Moroccan Jasmine, Lily of the Valley, and the warmth of Amber and Musk...it's just right for the crispy weather that's hitting us right now.
I'm all about a scent like this once the weather turns, because it's just plain wrong to wear your summer fragrance once the mercury dips below 65 degrees.
At least that's my opinion.
You can't go around smelling like the beach when you're layered in sweaters and t-shirts up the wazoo.
Am I right?
Donna Karan Cashmere Mist now even comes in a Luxe Edition ($48 for 1 oz.) that provides a new interpretation of the original. Throwing a little watery elements and some vanilla makes this a must have.
For us scent layerers out there, you can even get your hands on a Body Cleanser ($36), Body Lotion ($42), Shampoo and Conditioner ($20 each), and Deodorant ($45 for three ).
The later of which I am loving for the fact that it gives me the opportunity to break away from the regular scents that tend to permeate the deo market.
I mean...do you really want to smell like a lemony-pineapple?
Find yours at donnakaranbeauty.com.

pink products...prescriptives pink ribbon palette for cheeks and eyes
How sad was I to hear that Prescriptives will be closing their retail counters globally as of January 31, 2010?
Really, really sad.
Anyway...in keeping with the Estee Lauder Companies commitment to creating fabulous pink products that benefit Breast Cancer Awareness, Prescriptives is offering this Pink Ribbon Palette for Cheeks and Eyes ($48.50).
You can't beat the price, especially once you factor in that you get two blushes (in petal and apple blossom) and four eyeshadows (pink ribbon pink, aubergine, hocus, and cassis).
And all for under $50 too.
The compact itself can fit perfectly in your makeup bag and also comes fitted with a ginormous mirror for touch-ups.
Who doesn't need one of those..right?
Plus Prescriptives will donate $20,000 in connection with North American sales of the PX Pink Ribbon Palette for Cheeks and Eyes to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
While I couldn't find this on prescriptives.com right now, I did find this online at nordstrom.com. I would imagine that you might be able to snag one at Prescriptives counters as well...but only until supplies last.

avon's in bloom by reese witherspoon
While I haven't tried it yet, it's definitely something I'm uber curious about getting a sniff of...especially considering that Reese herself has amazing taste in every other factor of her life.
Here's how the notes break down:
Top Notes:
Georgia Peach Tea Leaves, Crisp Greens
Heart Notes:
Star Gardenia, Magical Magnolia, Night Blossoming Jasmine
Base Notes:
Cashmere Woods, Hypnotic Florals, Amber Wood Crystals
Does it not sound absolutely essential for right now?
Plus the bottle's design makes it perfect for display.
Here's a little snippet of an interview with Witherspoon. In it she talks about the fragrance and how it captures where she's at in her life right now...
Love it.

Smart because in the shower is the easiest way to check yourself everyday.
Other things I love about the Venus Embrace.

belacrema one creme
Honestly, who has time for a multi-step skincare routine anymore?
At the end of a really really long day, all I want to do is remove any traces of makeup and grime, apply some hydration...maybe a serum beforehand if I can handle it...and then hit the sheets.
I've started using this as my nightly cream and (so far) I like what I see.
Belacrema One Creme ($100) is just that...one cream that is meant to be used on your face, neck, and under your eyes.
A major multi-tasker.
So, while it'll definitely put a dent in your wallet, it kinda works it's way out because (essentially) it does the work of three products.
See? Multi-tasker.
Created by Helen Noble and based on a “family secret" that dates back more than 100 years, Belacrema products are made in Switzerland using only the purest ingredients -- with no harsh chemical, dyes, or fragrances.
So that means no crazy-funky-perfumey scent bombarding you while you sleep. It also means that the cream...and I do mean this in the nicest way possible...does not look at all pretty in the container.
It's texture has a sort of a thick, pasty feel to it and is on the tan side in color.
Something of which you might find weird if you just happened upon it.
Just saying.
The way to remedy that, is to emulsify it in your hands (by rubbing your fingers together for a few seconds) and then apply by pressing it into your face.
Easy.
All I know is that my skin feels moisturized at night...then smooth and supple in the morning.
That's something I could definitely live with, especially with the dryness of winter almost upon us.
Find yours at belacrema.com.

pureology supersmooth® system
To say that I am a huge fan of Pureology products would be an understatement.
They might be on the splurge side when it comes to price, but when you factor in how much it costs each time you go to the salon to get your hair expertly colored...you can save some money in the long run.
I mean, I've only been getting semi-permanent color lately and with today's going salon rates, it's a pretty good chunk o' change.
That's the reason why I use products that protect my hair color and that's why Pureology is one of the brands that is always sitting in my shower.
This time of year, Pureology's Hydrate Shampoo and Conditioner normally has top shelf billing for my daily getting-ready-in-the-morning routine.
Now they have a new neighbor, Pureology’s SuperSmooth® System.
It makes my chemically treated hair silky and smooth, without weighing it down.
Using the smoothing oils of camellia and sesame oil, organic shea butter, and organic geranium, it manages to
soften and tame the surface of my hair and prevents those really annoying fly-aways.
And it's smell is a-mazing...a blend of the aromatherapy notes: raspberry, jasmine, and chocolate powder.
I literally cannot stop sniffing my hair all day.
What I'm using LOVING is
SuperSmooth Shampoo ($27)
SuperSmooth HairCondition ($27)
SuperSmooth RelaxingHairMasque ($50)
SuperSmooth SmoothingElixir ($24)
I use the Elixir everytime on my damp hair to protect it from blowdrying and my hair feels all-at-once light and soft...did I mention how easy it makes blow drying?
Essential.
Find yours at pureology.com.

beauty buys under $10 - sally hansen natural beauty by carmindy sheerest cream blush
While I adore powder blushes, I tend to gravitate towards creams.
Why?
Well...for starters...I just think that they are so easy to apply on the go. No brushes needed.
I also love them for that "lit from within" glow that they just deliver.
In a pinch, you can also use them on your lips with a little gloss or balm too.
And let's not even get into their staying power.
Plus, once the temperature drops, I think it's the best time to switch to a cream based one, as long as your skin can handle it.
Definitely more moisturizing.
One I'm loving..Sally Hansen Natural Beauty Inspired by Carmindy Sheerest Cream Blush ($8.50)...comes in seven different shades and looks fabulously smudge-free when you put it on.
It's paraben free and contains some nourishing ingredients like safflower oil, jojoba oil, and vitamin E.
A great way to really give a big dose of color to your face?
Try this tip from Carmindy. Grab your cream blush...I suggest a great pink like Bloom (seen above) to really wake up your fall/winter skin...and pick some of it up on your fingers.
Swirl on the cream with your fingertips (or a sponge, if you'd rather use that) in light circular motions beginning at the apples and working lightly back into the hairline.
Voila. Instant pop!
For more tips and some amazingly helpful Carmindy videos, head on over to sallyhansennaturalbeauty.com.

pink products...dial natural radiance body wash with white tea and vitamin e pearls
The fams is really loving our shower lately.
Well, we've always gotten showers...it's little l who is just starting to transition from baths to showering.
Big L just installed a new shower head that's some dual craziness and that apparently is making it now cool for our little guy to get clean at night on a regular basis.
Anyway...
Dial's new Natural Radiance Body Wash with White Tea and Vitamin E Pearls ($4.50) has that perfect scent that doesn't smell too girly, just clean.
Meaning that the male head of the household can take a shower and not complain to me that he now smells like flowers and butterflies...or something like that.
Not only does it get you clean, it also goes towards a great cause, the Breast Cancer Network of Strength.
It's an organization that provides immediate emotional relief to anyone affected by breast cancer. It's mission is to ensure, through information, empowerment and peer support, that no one faces breast cancer alone.
A pretty amazing thing, don't you think?
The Dial Corporation, a Henkel Company, will make a $100,000 donation to the Breast Cancer Network of Strength in 2009.
A very amazing thing.
Find yours at your local Wal-Mart, Target, Kmart and fine retailers nationwide.

limited edition mac dsquared² color collection
Fantastic fashion duo Dean and Dan Caten of DSquared² have teamed up with M·A·C Cosmetics for the
launch of a highly covetable new makeup collection, based on the makeup look from their Fall/Winter 2009
runway show.
“It’s kind of ‘rock-on’ makeup, but it’s effortless and not overly done or perfect,” says Dean Caten.
The DSquared² Fall/Winter 2009 collection was inspired by the new breed of undone glamorous Hollywood starlets such as the Olsen twins and Lindsay Lohan, and features a magnetically dark eye that glistens and transmutes in the light.
“This girl doesn’t spend hours getting ready but she looks amazing, her style is all her own,” says Dan Caten. “Young Hollywood is about that, they don’t need to impress anyone, it’s cooler than being too studied. The same goes with the makeup, it isn’t about being perfect.”
Translating this charmingly wrecked look onto the face, Gordon Espinet and the M·A·C Product Development team have created a range of 10 products designed to be layered together for added throttle.
“This is the kind of makeup that gets better and better the more lived-in and the longer you wear it,” says Espinet.
Here's the details....
Face: Skin is neutral, then given a lived-in glamour with Sculpt and Shape Powders ($21), which are used to
highlight and contour.
Eyes: The central focus of this look is the eyes, blackened and distressed with sensual shimmer. First, Kohl
Power in Feline ($14.50) is used to draw inside the eye line, to give definition and edge. Then a Greasepaint Stick ($17.50) is
used to create shape and density of colour. This is broken with Greasepaint Stick (seen at right) in V and B (V, a violet
shade, is worn on the top lid and Peacock hued B on the bottom), which shoot through the black and gives it the iridescence of a crow’s wing or a scarab beetle. The look is texturized with M·A·C Clear Gloss, “to bring light to hidden things,” says Dan. The eye is wickedly topped with Zoom Fast Black Lash, the blackest of
black mascara.
Lips: To emphasize the magnetic pull of the eyes, lips are kept minimal yet delicious. Colour is first taken out of the lips using Lip Erase ($16) in Dim, a flesh tone balm that neutralizes lip colour, and then added back with Tinted Lip Conditioner SPF 15 ($14.50) in Fuchsia Fix, a breezy, girlish pink shade to keep the look youthful and carefree.
My take?
Love the DSquared² Greasepaint Sticks because they let out my inner child-in-art-class persona. My fave color V (a fab purple hue) allows helps you deliver the perfect smudgy line on your eyes...and do something different than typical black.
Another fave is the two lippies...Tinted Lip Conditioner SPF 15 in Fushia Fix and DSquared² Lipstick in Nude Rose ($14 seen above).
Pure perfection in my makeup bag.
Find yours at your local MAC counter or online at maccosmetics.com while you can...these are limited edition honey.

clinique even better skin tone correcting moisturizer spf 20
This is my new favorite.
Clinique has done it again with their latest offering, Even Better Skin Tone Correcting Moisturizer SPF 20 ($42.50).
It's perfect for my skin...not too heavy, not too light...and just works.
I swear that I notice a glow since it's been part of my daily routine and my skin looks more...well, even really.
Here's a little bit of info on what makes this cream tick...
* Ellagic Acid and Vitamin C (Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate/Ascorbyl Glucoside) help to address the appearance of dark spots.
* Pyrus Malus (Apple) Extract is unique to this moisturizer in the Even Better franchise, and helps calm and soothe irritated skin.
* Advanced Yeast Blend, a concentrated, patent-pending blend provides effective brightening results by breaking up existing dark spots into microparticles and making them less visible on the skin.
* Curcuma Longa Turmeric Root Extract is a powerful antioxidant and anti-irritant helps fend against environmental assaults that can off set excess melanin production.
* Sucrose/Trehalose help attract and maintain moisture levels in the skin.
* A blend of Lineolic Acid/Cholesterol/Wheat/Olive Extract helps rebuild the skin’s barrier and deliver intense moisturization so the skin is protected against external irritants.
* And a blend of broad spectrum sunscreens including UVA absorber Avobenzone, UVB absorber Octisalate as well as Octocrylene help protect skin against UV exposure and prevent future formation of dark spots and discolouration.
While I don't understand what half of those things are, or how to pronounce Trehalose, I know that this is a cream that once I run out I'll definitely be heading over to my Clinique counter and slapping down my credit card for a new one.
Being it's under $50*, I don't think that Big L will mind too much.
Find yours at your local Clinique counter or clinique.com.
*FYI...They do suggest that you use this in conjunction with the Even Better Skin Tone Corrector to see faster results. I didn't use the serum and saw results in a little less than two weeks...so that works for me.

REVIEW: Living Proof No Frizz

My new go-to styling product for hair!
Living Proof's Wave Shaping, Curl Defining No Frizz Styling Treatment is the product you seek to fall back in love with your wavy, curly hair! I'm convinced. A daily treatment (if needed, or you may go several days without having to wash again) for optimum frizz-reduction and conditioning, it claims to offer the first new anti-frizz technology in over 30 years. No Frizz addresses the two causes of frizz—humidity and friction. As a wavy, curly haired belle in the deep south of New Orleans (read: tropical hell for about 7-8 months of the year), I reeeeeally wanted this product to live of to the hype. It did.
Wave Shaping, Curl Defining No Frizz Styling Treatment provides a superior, extremely thin humidity barrier on hair while reducing surface friction. The result is an effective, lightweight frizz fighter, one of the best on the market today. This expert styling secret weapon contains a touchable holding polymer to give waves and curls added definition. Hair is left sleek and manageable without becoming sticky, "crunchy", greasy or heavy at all. This is a versatile product as well. Comb through and leave hair to air dry, or blow dry for lustrous, shiny locks. Get styling tips from No Frizz here.
Living Proof's No Frizz formulas efficiently deliver PolyfluoroEster to the surface of the hair in one even, perfect layer—devoid of any extraneous additives. This advanced styling aid works great on color-treated hair and is terrific for highly processed hair. No Frizz also repels dirt and oil so you can go longer between shampoos.
I'm telling you, I'm really delighfully impressed with this brand. I've tried this and their Straight Making No Frizz Styling Treatment with equal success. Both are a creamy-gel in texture, with a very light organic-botancial scent. Te key is not to use too much. I have a head full of very thick, wavy, longer-than-shoulder-length hair and all I need is about a quarter-size amount of the treatment in the palm of my hand to handle my whole head of hair. Those with less hair (in thickness or length) will need much less. As such, the bottle will last you a good long while.
Apparently I'm not the only one who has fallen in love with Living Proof's No Frizz products. Marie Claire featured it in their Top Hair Products - Behind the Scenes: Model Behavior article. Living Proof's wavy and straight styling creams are both available in three versions (fine to medium, medium to thick and thick to course) and in two sizes (2 oz and 4 oz). $14 - $24. Available at Sephora, Living Proof ad QVC.

Beautorium Invites Us to Think Pink and Go Green

Natural beauty retailer Beautorium has announced a new initiative that will unite breast cancer fundraising, in support of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure® North Jersey Affiliate, with education about the health benefits of natural and organic beauty products. From Oct. 15, 2009 - Jan. 15, 2010, 25 percent of the proceeds from select products listed at
Beautorium will be donated to the North Jersey Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Beautorium has enlisted several of its brands, among the top natural beauty companies in the world, to participate in the effort. Exuberance Beauty, John Masters Organics, Juice Beauty, Marina Cosmetics, red flower, Revolution Organics, Saaf, Sophyto and Trilogy will donate to the cause. Melvita Organics will also join the lineup at the time of its US debut on Nov. 9. Among the 35 natural and organic products hand-picked to benefit Susan G. Komen North Jersey are Beautorium top-sellers like Trilogy Organic Rosehip Oil, Exuberance Brightening Facial Serum with Vitamin C, Saaf Organic Eraser Body Oil and Juice Beauty SPF 30 Tinted Moisturizer.
The unique support that Beautorium brings to Susan G. Komen North Jersey highlights the organizations’ interest in health awareness and education for women. In addition to raising funds that will help save lives, bring care and support to breast cancer patients and work toward a cure, Beautorium seeks to further the understanding of the importance of natural and organic products for our best health. Many ingredients that are commonly found in commercial beauty preparations have been linked to cancer or other health issues. Given that skin is our largest organ, able to absorb 60% of what we put on our bodies, the choice of natural and organic personal care products is an important step in protecting ourselves from an overload of harmful chemicals.
Beautorium offers only the highest quality natural products that are free from ingredients like parabens, phthalates, sodium laurel sulfate (SLS), sodium laureth sulfate (SLES) and polyethylene glycol (PEG), which may pose serious health risks. To learn more about the potentially harmful ingredients in your beauty products, visit Skin Deep, at cosmeticsdatabase.com.
“I would like to thank Beautorium for raising awareness and funds for our organization from their Think Pink, Go Green Collection. Their support will help us to one day realize our goal and vision of a world without breast cancer.” said Deborah Q. Belfatto, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Susan G. Komen North Jersey.
Beautorium founder Ann Francke says, “We are passionate about the fight against breast cancer and thank Susan G. Komen North Jersey for the opportunity to support their work. We are hoping that our benefit campaign will be highly successful and enjoyed by all!”

dermaquest glyco hand and body cream
I'm all about the hands.
It's really the only way...now-a-days at least...that one can truly show one's age.
Just take a look at some of your fave older celebs.
They can nip and tuck all they want, but the hands always give them away.
ALWAYS.
I keep a handful (get it? HAND-ful? okay...give me a break...I'm working on little sleep here people) of creams at the ready to use day and night.
This one has made the cut.
Dermaquest Glyco Hand and Body Cream ($41) is something I slather on my hands at night...then wake up to fabulous softness during the day.
Love. Love. Love it.
It's paraben-free and features Alpha Hydroxy Acids, hyaluronic acid, and Shea Butter.
True...it is a bit of a splurge...but one tube will last you a while. Especially because you don't need a ton to work.
The other fabulous part about this little wonder in a tube, is that with every purchase, money will be donated to benefit The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
From now through November 1, 2009, a portion of each purchase of DermaQuest Glyco Hand and Body Cream will be donated to BCRF in support of their mission to achieve prevention and a cure for breast cancer through research at leading medical centers worldwide and increased public awareness about breast health.
Plus, the tube is decorated with a pink ribbon in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Gotta really love that.
Find yours at skinterra.com, skincarerx.com, and at select spas and boutiques nationwide. For a complete list of retailers, please visit dermaquestinc.com.

darac brow trio
A perfectly goof-proof way to fill in your brows.
Everything you need is here...a brow brush. brow color, and eye-brightening powder...in one simple pencil.
Although it's hard to tell, the pencil tip itself is chiseled into a perfect shape that allows for easy feathering action during application.
To make it even easier Darac even delivers the how-to steps on his site daracbeauty.com.
I'm using this right now to fill in those little spare areas that somehow got my brows all off track in the neatness department.
I used this the other day, in fact, and Big L made the comment on how fabulous my brows looked. Okay, he didn't exactly use the word fabulous, but you get the idea.
You can get yours for $22, at daracbeauty.com .

loving the cover...kristen stewart on the cover of the november allure
The November Allure issue hits New York and LA newsstands today and everywhere else October 20th. You honestly need to get your hands on this one.
Why?
Well, mainly because Kristen Stewart is on the cover looking totally ferosh (sorry, reading the new book by Christian Siriano) and smoky eyed.
Plus there are two things I must know now....
Just what are the sexiest new haircuts?
And...
What are the 1000 other things that make Stewart really, really uncomfortable?
Seriously...what are they? Mine's snakes, spiders, and being stared at...don't judge me.
Kristin also sat down for an interview for the mag and here's just a glimpse at some of her responses...
Kristen on her role as Bella inthe Twilight saga :
“You’re so very much with Bella. You’re so in her shoes that it’s a vicarious experience. It’s addictive.”
On her refusal to play by the conventional Hollywood rules:
“I go outside, and I’m wearing a funky T-shirt and my hair is dirty, and people say, ‘What’s wrong with her? She needs to invest in a hairbrush.”
“I’m like, Don’t you get it? I’m not that girl! Like, I never was that girl. It’s not like I was really clean-cut last year.”
This Hollywood actress sometimes has trouble expressing her true feelings when speaking with the media:
“I spend so much of my time guarding against sounding insincere about something that I would die for.”
“Maybe I’m overcompensating....I care so much. And it gets reported as the opposite. And even seeing this [interview], they’ll be like, Oh, she’s trying to let us know...”
Kristen is not an actress who has to worry about her weight:
“I don’t exercise. I’m skinny fat. I worry about being too skinny.”
You can see more of the images from the shoot at allure.com.
